The Turkish World MS Research Support Association, National Association of Neurologists and Azerbaijan Children's Neurologists Association jointly organized and supported by Health and Science Initiatives on June 8-11, 2023, at the Hilton Baku Hotel, "5. INTERNATIONAL TURKISH WORLD MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS CONGRESS" was successfully completed.
On June 8, the congress began with a ceremonial opening. Also, in the opening speech, extensive information was given about the International Turkish World Multiple Sclerosis Congress and the organizers. In addition, videos related to all the countries of the Turkic world, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus were shown to the participants.
Azerbaijani national dances and a professional instrumental music group added color to the opening of the congress. During the opening, letters of thanks, awards and gifts were presented to the organizers - the chairmen, secretaries of the congress, members of the scientific and organizational committee.
On June 9-10, in addition to 13 sessions, in 4 satellite symposia, speakers discussed the current diagnosis, treatment and current development of multiple sclerosis and related diseases, as well as specialists working in various clinics in the countries of the Turkic world shared interesting clinical cases from their experience with the participants. On June 11, Oral and E-poster presentations presented research conducted in Turkic-speaking countries. The co-chairs of the Congress and the representatives of the countries discussed the plans to create a union of power between the Turkic-speaking countries. Then the closing ceremony of the congress took place and all participants were invited to the 6th INTERNATIONAL TURKISH WORLD MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS CONGRESS planned to be held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in 2024. 5. International Turkish World Multiple Sclerosis Congress was highly appreciated by the participants.
We would like to note that the event was accredited for Continuing Medical Education based on the "Temporary Regulations on Improving the Knowledge and Skills of Doctors" of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and participants were awarded 17 credit points, and speakers were awarded 22 credit points. The congress was organized in a hybrid format.
